igubal ESQM – Specially developed for the solar industry

The igubal ESQM pillow block bearing has been specially developed for tracking photovoltaic modules and the harsh conditions in the solar industry. It consists of a split housing and a split spherical ball with a square profile mounting. The housing is made of igumid G, a particularly robust, long-fibre-reinforced polymer that withstands temperatures from -40 to +120°C and can withstand short-term exposure up to +180°C. The spherical ball is made of the very low-friction iglidur J4.

The ESQM pillow block bearing is available for square profiles measuring 100 x 100mm, 110 x 110mm, 120 x 120mm, 140 x 140mm, or 150 x 150mm. Thanks to the split design of the housing and spherical ball, they can be easily installed and removed, which saves time and effort. The pillow block bearing is designed for high loads and can absorb static (wind) loads of up to 50kN. It is characterised by its lightweight design and its ability to compensate for misalignments.

It is fastened using M16 screws, with a recommended tightening torque of 50Nm. The pillow block bearings are UV-resistant, corrosion-free and require no lubrication, which makes them insensitive to dirt and completely maintenance-free. In our in-house test laboratory, the bearings reached a service life of 72 years under a load of 1.5 tonnes, simulated in accelerated time. That is why we guarantee a service life of 25 years.
